“We like the idea that the museum is an ongoing resource to the community. We credit Fruitlands for creating new and different ways to expose children and families to the arts and humanities.”
Bolton Cultural Council

Fruitlands is both a regional museum and a community resource for education and experimentation — a place where you can explore the past and imagine the future.

We’re committed to offering programs that explore the ideas of America’s most original thinkers, movers and reformers, including the Alcott family, Shakers, Native peoples, settlers, farmers, artists, and many more. The museum’s collections and landscape provide visitors with a gathering place for community involvement, education, discovery, recreation, and enjoyment.

Our museum staff strives to inspire curiosity and help visitors reflect on the enduring connections between people and place. We welcome collaborations that help build relationships between people and organizations that transform the spirit of community life.
